🎬 Cine Consciente · Environmental Film Series in Palma
Four documentaries, four environmental conversations and four evenings dedicated to looking at our planet a little differently.
This autumn, Cine Consciente returns for its third Environmental Film Series, organised by Mallorca Preservation in collaboration with the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival and Estudi General Lul·lià.
From 24 September to 3 November, the series brings four environmental documentaries to Palma, each followed by a conversation with experts connected to the subject of the film. All screenings take place at Estudi General Lul·lià and are free to attend with advance reservation.
The Programme
🌿 24 September · Wetlands, the Legacy of Luc Hoffmann
A documentary exploring the life and legacy of conservationist Luc Hoffmann and his work to protect wetlands and biodiversity. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Carlota Viada from WWF and Juan Calvo from Aliança per l’Aigua.
🦈 7 October · Sharks of the Mediterranean: A Vanishing Kingdom
A journey beneath the surface of the Mediterranean looking at its shark populations and the challenges facing these often misunderstood marine predators. Followed by a conversation with Biel Morey and Agustí Torres.
🌱 21 October · Kiss the Ground
A documentary exploring soil regeneration and the potential role of healthier soils in addressing environmental challenges. The post-film discussion features Elena Baraza and Miquel Serra.
🌊 3 November · L’Odissea del vell marí
The final screening turns its attention back to the Mediterranean, followed by a conversation with Núria Abad Rivas, Marta Hierro Bravo and Joan Mayol.
