Garbage Worth Being Kept + Plagues · Nit de l’Art 2026

For Nit de l’Art’s 30th anniversary, Balazsi Gallery presents two exhibitions across its three spaces, bringing together the work of Román Fabré, Ian Soler Bradley and Patrick Goddard.

In Spaces 1 & 2, Garbage Worth Being Kept brings together Mallorca-born Román Fabré and Barcelona artist Ian Soler Bradley in a duo exhibition curated by Esmeralda Gómez Galera.

Moving between painting, sculpture and installation, the exhibition takes its title from artist Michael Krebber’s description of folding away a painting he considered finished with: “garbage worth being kept.” From there, Fabré and Soler Bradley explore a question that runs throughout the creative process: what deserves to remain, what gets discarded and what is allowed to stay unresolved?

Both artists work across disciplines and are involved in Barsa, a self-managed curatorial project in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat dedicated to creating space for emerging and lesser-known artists.

Meanwhile, Space 3 presents Plagues, Patrick Goddard’s first exhibition at Balazsi Gallery.

Taking the loaded idea of a “plague” as its starting point, Goddard examines the systems that determine what — or who — belongs and what is considered disruptive, unwanted or threatening. His work explores ideas around “the wild”, value and the boundaries created by social and economic systems.

Two exhibitions, three spaces and three artists — with plenty to discover and think about as you make your way through Palma on one of the biggest nights in Mallorca’s art calendar.
