🚶♀️ Marxa des Güell a Lluc a Peu 2026
One of Mallorca’s oldest and most cherished traditions returns on 1 August 2026 as thousands of people once again take part in the 52nd Marxa des Güell a Lluc a Peu.
Every summer, walkers of all ages set off on an overnight journey from Palma to the Lluc Sanctuary, covering 48 kilometres through the heart of Mallorca. While many participate for the physical challenge, for others it is a deeply personal pilgrimage, continuing a tradition that has united generations of Mallorcans for more than five decades.
The walk began in 1974, when a small group of friends made the journey to Lluc to give thanks after a young girl survived a serious accident. What started with around 30 participants has grown into Mallorca’s largest and most iconic pilgrimage, attracting thousands of walkers every year.
The main route departs from Plaça des Güell in Palma at 23:00 on Saturday evening, following an almost entirely paved route to the Lluc Monastery in the Serra de Tramuntana. Most participants complete the walk in 8–13 hours.
For those who prefer a shorter challenge, it’s also possible to join the final stretch from Inca, with departure at 05:30 on Sunday morning from Plaça des Bestiar.
