Festes de Santa Praxedis 2026 – Petra

One of Mallorca’s most authentic and beloved village festivals returns as Petra celebrates Santa Praxedis with almost a month of concerts, traditions, sporting events, exhibitions and family-friendly activities.

The festivities begin in late June and build towards the patron saint celebrations with everything from food truck festivals, live music, theatre, exhibitions, summer games, concerts, workshops, sporting tournaments and open-air events taking place throughout the village.

Running from 27 June to 21 July 2026, the programme fills the streets and squares of Petra with everything from live music, food festivals and open-air theatre to traditional processions, children’s activities, sporting competitions and some of Mallorca’s most unique local customs. Most events take place around Plaça Ramon Llull, Plaça Sant Juníper Serra, the Parish Church of Sant Pere, Estació Vella and other locations throughout the village.

Highlights include:

3 July
Kick off the celebrations with the Run Fest fun run, the Beer & Food Truck Festival featuring live music, and a lively Summer Carnival with DJs, costumes and late-night entertainment.

11 July – Festa de Ses Clovelles 🌰💦
The biggest and most iconic event of the entire festival.

Thousands gather in Petra for this unique tradition where the streets are transformed into one giant celebration as almond shells (clovelles), water, music and dancing fill the historic centre. Expect DJs, live percussion, traditional music, plenty of water fights and an unforgettable atmosphere unlike anywhere else on Mallorca.

The festivities begin around midday and continue throughout the afternoon before the celebrations continue into the evening with the theatre performance Sa Botiga.

12–19 July
The programme continues with traditional pamboli dinners, children’s foam parties, creative workshops, concerts, sporting finals, the Petrukada children’s drumming parade, performances by the village Dimoni, live orchestras, astronomy talks, charity dinners, local folklore and concerts including Tomeu Penya.

20 July – Ses Completes
One of Petra’s most emotional traditions. The Municipal Corporation walks to the parish church accompanied by the Dimoni, giant figures, the xeremiers (traditional Mallorcan bagpipers) and the local brass band before the traditional hymn to Santa Praxedis is sung. The evening concludes with a huge Verbena featuring live bands and DJs.

21 July – Feast Day of Santa Praxedis
The celebrations culminate with the Solemn Mass, the traditional Cos (horse races, demonstrations and local competitions), followed by the Mostra de Ball Santa Praxedis, showcasing traditional Mallorcan dance groups.

Why go?
From centuries-old traditions and village folklore to concerts, DJs, food, children’s activities and the famous Festa de Ses Clovelles, the Festes de Santa Praxedis are one of Mallorca’s most authentic summer celebrations and a fantastic opportunity to experience the island’s local culture at its liveliest.
