Covered Markets in Mallorca — Open Most Days
If you prefer shopping under cover – or just want a reliable market option whatever the weather – Mallorca’s covered markets (mercados) are a fantastic choice. Generally open Monday to Saturday (closed Sundays), they’re permanent, year-round destinations with long-established stalls run by knowledgeable local vendors.
Expect fresh fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, cheese, charcuterie, and local specialities. In Palma especially, covered markets double as social hubs, with bars and cafés where locals linger over coffee and conversation.
