🌿 Fira d’Artà 2026 · Tradition, Local Produce & Village Life

One of the oldest and most emblematic fairs in the region returns to Artà, with its main fair day taking over the village on Sunday, 13 September.

The Fira d’Artà has its roots in the traditional autumn fairs that once marked the end of the agricultural and livestock season – a time when farmers gathered to show their animals and trade after summer. While the fair has evolved considerably since then, that connection to agriculture, local produce, craftsmanship and community remains at its heart.

Events surrounding the Fira run throughout September, but Sunday 13 is the big one, when different streets and squares across Artà become dedicated areas for animals, local producers, gastronomy, artisans, community organisations, shopping and activities for children.

🐑 What You’ll Find at the Fira

The animal area at Plaça del Pes dels Porcs brings the fair back to its agricultural roots, while Plaça del Conqueridor is dedicated to Mallorcan producers and artisans selling locally made goods.

Elsewhere, expect a gastronomic area with sweet and savoury products, a dedicated children’s play area, and displays of classic cars and motorbikes, antique agricultural tools, traditional carts and carriages.

Traditional skills are part of the programme too. Stop by the llatra workshop and gathering to see – or learn – the Mallorcan craft of plaiting dried palm leaves, watch a traditional sínia waterwheel in motion or visit the exhibition of birds of prey with educational activities.

🐕 Demonstrations, Local Food & Traditions

At 10:00, the National Club of the Pastor Mallorquí presents a showcase dedicated to Mallorca’s native shepherd dog.

There are dog agility demonstrations at 11:00 and 12:00, followed by tastings of Mallorcan herbes, while from 11:00–13:30, chef Joan Josep Genestar of Sa Bàscula hosts a live cooking demonstration using local, seasonal ingredients.

The Fira weekend actually gets going on Saturday 12, with highlights including a local-product tasting with producers and wineries from 19:00–00:00, accompanied by live music, plus the XXV Mostra de Balls Tradicionals at Teatre d’Artà and a midnight fireworks display.
