⚔️ Diada Valkyria · A Viking Day for a Good Cause
Vikings are taking over Parc de Sa Riera this Sunday – but this invasion comes with batucadas, kids’ activities, food trucks and a very good cause.
On 13 September, the first Diada Valkyria brings a full day of Viking-inspired entertainment to Palma, with all funds raised going to ASPANOB, the Balearic association supporting children with cancer and their families.
Running from 10:30–21:00, the programme mixes live music and DJs with a Viking camp, traditional customs and demonstrations, local artisans, workshops, face painting, games and plenty of activities for children.
🥁 Music, Batucadas & Entertainment
Music runs throughout the day, starting with Rocky Fox at 10:30, followed by DJ Xiron, Batucada Valkyria, Xaranga Final Feliç, D-Zero and DJ Fran Noguera.
From 18:00–20:00, things get particularly loud with the Trobada de Batucades, bringing together several percussion groups including Batucada Valkyria, So de Samba, Batukada S’Eixam, Trons de Tramuntana, Tamborers d’Albopàs, Tambors per a la Pau, Batuca Fort and Sandungueros.
There’s even an introductory batucada class from 17:00–18:00 for anyone tempted to join in.
🛡️ Step Into the Viking Camp
Beyond the music, visitors can explore a Viking camp, discover Viking customs and demonstrations, try target games, join creative workshops and browse stalls from local artisans.
For kids and families, there will be face painting, a themed photocall, mask and drawing workshops, games and children’s entertainment throughout the day.
And dressing up is very much encouraged: arrive in Viking costume, take a free photo at the themed photocall and you’ll also be entered into a draw for Valkyria merchandise.
Food trucks will be on site throughout the day, alongside artisan food and drinks.
