🍇 Festa des Vermar 2026 · 60 Years of Binissalem’s Harvest Festival

Every September, Binissalem turns the grape harvest into one of Mallorca’s great village celebrations. And 2026 is a particularly special year: the Festa des Vermar celebrates its 60th edition, while the Festa dels Trepitjadors marks its 25th anniversary.

Running from 4–27 September, the programme brings together wine, food, music, art, sport and traditional Mallorcan culture — before building towards the main Vermada celebrations during the final two weekends.

At its heart is Binissalem’s relationship with the vineyard. The festival remembers the generations who worked the land, tended the vines and produced the wine for which the area is known. That heritage appears everywhere: in grape stomping, wine tastings, fideus de vermar, traditional dress, music, communal dinners and, naturally, a rather chaotic battle involving a lot of grapes.

🍇 THE MAIN VERMADA CELEBRATIONS

Things really ramp up from Friday 18 September.

SEP 18 · Welcome to Sa Vermada

The traditional Benvinguda a Sa Vermada begins at 17:30, travelling through the village with several dance stops along the route.

At 19:30, the Vermadores and Vermadors are officially received at the Town Hall before processing with the Xeremiers de Binissalem to the church.

At 20:30, the official Pregó de Festes takes place, followed at 21:30 by the children’s correfoc, “Es Dimoni de sa Vermada,” in Plaça de sa Quartera.

The evening continues at 22:00 with In the Night, a live tribute to Txarango and Oques Grasses performed by the Banda de Binissalem and Banda des Migjorn Gran.

SEP 19 · Festa dels Trepitjadors & Batalla de Raïm 🍇💥

One of the wildest days of the entire festival — and particularly special in 2026 as the Festa dels Trepitjadors celebrates its 25th anniversary.

🎺 10:00 · Voltant voltant, a musical procession through town
🎉 12:00 · Opening proclamation outside the Town Hall
🍇 Afterwards · Gran Batalla de Raïm at the sports complex
🍜 14:00 · XXV Dinar i Festa dels Trepitjadors in Plaça de l’Església

The Trepitjadors lunch serves the traditional fideus de vermar, followed by a full afternoon of music with Horris Kamoi, Val 9, JOQSE, DJ Biel Martorell and DJ Stefan.

Important: the lunch is €15, advance tickets are required, and participants must wear the proper traditional trepitjador clothing to be served.

SEP 20 · Grape-Stomping Competition 👣🍇

At 17:30 in Plaça de l’Església, teams step into the tubs for the XXVI Concurs de Trepitjar Raïm.

Participants dressed as traditional grape stompers compete in different age and adult categories, accompanied by Dionysus — the Greek god of wine — the Xeremiers and Tall de Vermadors performing traditional harvest songs.

Even if you’re not competing, this is one of the most characteristic events to watch.

SEP 23 · Cursa Rural Intervinyes 🏃‍♀️🍇

A 6.5 km race through the vineyards, starting from Bodega José L. Ferrer.

Children’s races begin at 17:00, followed by the main race at 18:00.

SEP 24 · Festa de Fideus de Vermar 🍜

Another essential Vermada tradition.

At 21:00, everyone heads to Can Arabí for the 43rd Festa de Fideus de Vermar — the traditional harvest noodle dish prepared with meat and a spicy broth.

The evening includes the Xeremiers de Binissalem followed by dancing with Orquestra Galatzó.

🎟️ €3 · advance ticket required
🍽️ Bring your own plate and cutlery
🚶 The Town Hall recommends walking to Can Arabí.

The first fideuada here took place in 1982; by 1988, according to the festival programme, around 3,500 people were already attending — so this isn’t just festival food, but a tradition with more than four decades of history.

SEP 25 · Sopar a la Fresca 🍷✨

One of our favourite kinds of Mallorcan village traditions: the streets become the dining room.

From 20:30, residents decorate their streets, bring tables and chairs outside, open their doors and sit down with family and friends for the enormous communal Sopar a la Fresca.

There is even a competition for the best-decorated tables.

Later, the party moves to Plaça de l’Església:

🎶 21:00–03:00 · Gran Revetla
Aftersuns · Baix’N’Nicotina · DJ Joan Campos

🚆 Special train services are planned and several parking areas will be available outside the centre, as streets begin closing from 16:00.

SEP 26 · Carrosses + Fira del Vi 🎭🍷

Another of the biggest Vermada days.

🎭 17:00 · Desfilada de Carrosses
The traditional decorated floats parade through Binissalem, accompanied by the Xeremiers and members of the village’s senior association.

🍷 17:30–22:00 · XXI Fira del Vi
The Wine Fair takes over Parc de la Rectoria, with its official opening at 20:00.

SEP 27 · The Grand Finale 🍇🔥

The final Sunday combines some of the festival’s most traditional ceremonies with one fiery ending.

👗 09:30 · Parade featuring Vermadores and Vermadors from across the 60 years of the Festa des Vermar

10:30 · Solemn Mass at Santa Maria de Robines

🍇 11:15 · Offering of the year’s new grape must (most novell) by the 2026 Vermadors and Vermadores, followed by giants, xeremiers, traditional music and La Balanguera.

🍷 16:30–20:30 · XXI Fira del Vi continues

👗 19:00 · End-of-festival photo — everyone is encouraged to wear traditional Mallorcan dress — followed by a ballada popular with Al-Mayurqa and Da-li Cebes, with complimentary wine from José L. Ferrer.

🔥 22:00 · “Aires de Foc” Adult Correfoc
The Vermada finishes with devils, drums, sparks and fire in Plaça de l’Església.

💜 Why 2026 Is Special

This year’s motto is essentially about being open to culture, heritage and wine, and the anniversary is being treated as more than simply a birthday.

The Town Hall describes the Vermada as something passed from generation to generation: six decades in which the festival has evolved with Binissalem without losing its connection to the people who worked the land and vineyards.

The 25th Festa dels Trepitjadors reinforces that idea. It was created by a group of young people in Binissalem to honour the men and women whose work in the vineyards helped shape the village and its way of life.

So yes, there are concerts, wine and one enormous grape fight — but Sa Vermada is really a celebration of Binissalem itself.

📅 4–27 September 2026
📍 Binissalem
🎟️ Many events are free; some require advance tickets or registration.
🍇 Main celebrations: 18–27 September

Our tip: If you can only visit once, 19–20 September is brilliant for the Trepitjadors and grape-stomping traditions; for the classic village-wide Vermada atmosphere, aim for 24–27 September.
