For its October edition, Books Uncorked is leaving Palma and heading inland to Bohemian Bookbar in Costitx – an independent bookshop and lounge made for exactly this kind of evening.
Books Uncorked puts a modern spin on the traditional literary salon, pairing excerpts from a culture-shaping work of literature with wines selected to reflect the atmosphere, themes and landscape of the text. This time, the conversation explores the blurry line between freedom and responsibility: where our ideas of right and wrong come from, who teaches us where the line is, and what happens when we cross it.
The evening is hosted by author and literary agent Arizona Bell, who will bring specially selected excerpts to life through an animated reading and discussion, alongside wine expert Amy Dunn, who has curated the accompanying wine pairings.
And no homework required: you don’t need to have read the book beforehand – in fact, they’re keeping the title a surprise. 😉
