Sant Jaume 2026 in Santanyí
Every July, the town of Santanyí celebrates its patron saint with over two weeks of festivities, combining Mallorcan traditions with concerts, cultural events, family activities and lively evenings in the town centre. This year’s celebrations take place from 14 July to 2 August 2026, with the main festivities running between 17 and 26 July.
From giant parades and outdoor dinners to Holi celebrations, concerts and traditional horse events, Sant Jaume offers something for every generation.
Festival Highlights
17 July – Opening Night
The festivities officially begin with the opening exhibition at Sala Bússer, followed by the traditional parade of the giants Bernat Cinclaus and Maria Ramis, accompanied by the town’s xeremiers. The evening continues with the official opening speech and live music in the Placeta de la Constitució.
18 July – Literature & Verbena
Culture takes centre stage with the presentation of the Premis Literaris Vila de Santanyí, followed by a wine tasting. From 22:00, Plaça Major hosts the popular Verbena Camp, with performances by Orquestra Marítim, Orquestra Mallorca, VAL9 and local DJs.
20–22 July
Families can enjoy inflatable water games at the municipal pool, while evenings feature the Municipal Band’s Symphonic Rock concert, a community Pa amb Oli dinner and the colourful Holi Festival, where everyone is encouraged to dress in white before being covered in clouds of colour.
23 July – Els Catarres
One of the biggest musical highlights arrives as popular Catalan band Els Catarres performs live at the Camp Municipal d’Esports, promising one of the festival’s biggest nights.
24 July – Sant Jaume Eve
Traditional celebrations take over the town with Dimonis and Caparrots, ribbon races, the much-loved Jaleo horse games accompanied by live music, children’s activities and a huge evening verbena with Spoty Funk, Enrokats and local DJs.
25 July – Sant Jaume Day
The patron saint’s day begins with the traditional Albada, followed by the Solemn Mass, performances by the Municipal Band, the giants and Ball de Bot. The evening features the popular Mobylettada Santanyinera, open-air theatre and concludes with a midnight fireworks display.
26 July
The celebrations continue with children’s workshops, a Mostra de Ball de Mallorca, a popular Ballada and the annual Sant Jaume Race, before the programme extends into early August with additional cultural activities.
