Romans, gladiators, epic battles, live entertainment and one unforgettable bacchanal… Consell is travelling back more than 2,000 years this summer.
On Saturday, 4 July, the village’s Plaça Major transforms into a lively Roman Forum for the second edition of Quintades Romanes – Consilivm, one of Mallorca’s most original summer fiestas. Expect a full day of family activities followed by an evening packed with competitions, music, costumes, gladiator battles and a giant Roman feast beneath the stars.
Whether you’re part of a local quinta or simply coming to soak up the atmosphere, this is a celebration where everyone is welcome to embrace their inner Roman.
👧 Quintades Menudes (from 11:00)
The morning belongs to the youngest Romans with a programme full of fun and creativity:
🏺 Roman workshops including writing, games, painting and traditional costumes
📖 Storytelling performances inspired by mythology and the Odyssey
🍦 Ice cream for everyone
🏆 Competition for the best-dressed children’s quinta
⚔️ Grans Quintades (from 19:00)
As evening falls, the Forum comes alive with one of the island’s most entertaining village celebrations.
Highlights include:
🏛️ Presentation of the Roman standards and decorated table competition
⚔️ The legendary Batalla de Quintes, hosted by Pep Noguera and Mateu Berga, with music by Skalas DJ
🍽️ Communal Roman dinner in the square (reserve your table through the bars in the square)
🛡️ Grand Roman procession (Pompa Romana)
⚔️ Live gladiator battles
🍷 The Gran Bacanal, featuring Jaume Colombàs, bringing the celebration to a spectacular close.
