Sant Llorenç des Cardassar Patron Saint Festivities 2026
Every August, Sant Llorenç des Cardassar comes alive with ten days of celebrations as everyone gathers to honour the village’s patron saint. From 6 to 16 August, the streets fill with music, tradition and community spirit, creating one of the municipality’s biggest annual events.
The programme begins on 6 August with a lively GastroMarket, the official opening parade featuring the village giants and big-head figures, the inauguration of several exhibitions, the festive opening speech, and an evening concert by the Sant Llorenç Music Band.
On 7 August, the celebrations continue with a fashion show, dance performances, the opening of the popular Es Vernissatge art evening and live music across several stages before a late-night party featuring local bands and DJs.
8 August brings one of the biggest highlights of the festivities: the XXX Fira Nocturna a l’Estació (more info here!), a vibrant night market with artisan stalls, food trucks, wine, live music, historical performances and family entertainment. The evening also includes a concert by Pitxorines followed by a large open-air revetla with Univers Ja T’ho, Fandango All Stars and DJ Simonet.
Families can enjoy children’s entertainment and a live concert on 9 August, while 10 August, the feast day of Sant Llorenç, features traditional children’s games, a foam party, the solemn mass in honour of the patron saint, Mallorcan folk dancing and an evening Ball de Bot with several traditional groups.
Sport takes centre stage on 11 August with children’s athletics, a fitness masterclass and the popular XXXIII Cursa Popular Nocturna “Més sans que un gra d’all”, followed by a neon-themed post-race party with DJs and entertainment.
On 12 August, alongside water games at the municipal pool, the programme includes a special gathering to experience Mallorca’s total solar eclipse, taking advantage of the municipality’s excellent viewing conditions.
The festivities continue on 13 August with another GastroMarket, paddle surf activities, family cinema, a circus performance and a spectacular evening correfoc through the streets.
One of the village’s most anticipated traditions returns on 14 August with Sa Granotada, the friendly rivalry between the neighbourhoods of Corea and Camp Rodó, followed by Sa Verbena—seven hours of uninterrupted live music and DJs.
The final weekend includes a football match and a dinner for the village’s senior residents on 15 August, before the festivities conclude on 16 August with the glamorous Granots d’Or gala, inspired by the Golden Globes, celebrating local creativity and community spirit.
