🏛️ Open House Palma 2026 – Discover the City Behind Closed Doors
Ever wondered what’s hiding behind some of Palma’s most beautiful doors? Here’s your chance to find out.
From 9–15 November 2026, Open House Palma returns for its sixth edition, opening up some of the city’s most fascinating buildings, architectural landmarks and normally inaccessible spaces.
And the best part? Visits are free!
Part of the international Open House movement, this much-loved architecture festival invites locals and visitors to discover Palma from a completely different perspective.
Think historic palaces, modernist architecture, cultural institutions, private spaces and buildings you’ve probably walked past a hundred times without ever seeing what’s inside.
🏛️ More Than 50 Buildings to Discover
The main open-door programme takes place from 13–15 November, with guided visits to more than 50 architectural spaces across Palma.
Among the participating locations are:
- Edifici de GESA – One of Palma’s most recognisable examples of modern architecture.
- Can Balaguer – A historic mansion with centuries of stories behind its walls.
- Fundació Miró Mallorca – Discover the Taller Sert, the Moneo Building and a special opportunity to learn about the restoration of Son Boter, Joan Miró’s second studio.
- Antic Cine Rosales – A chance to explore a modern architectural project.
- Palma’s historic and institutional buildings – A selection of cultural landmarks, heritage sites and spaces not usually accessible to the public.
The programme includes guided visits led by volunteers, offering insight into the architecture, history and stories behind each location.
💧 The 2026 Theme: Water & the City
This year’s edition explores the relationship between architecture, urban design and water.
How has water shaped Palma throughout its history? What role do the city’s waterways, mills and infrastructure play today? And how can architecture help address future sustainability challenges?
Through building visits, guided walks and discussions, the festival encourages visitors to see the city through a new lens.
🚶 Walks, Talks, Music & Family Activities
Beyond the building visits, Open House Palma offers a full week of cultural activities.
Expect:
🚶 Open Walks – Guided explorations of Palma’s neighbourhoods, architecture and urban history.
💬 Open Talks – Conversations about architecture, heritage, sustainability and the future of the city.
👨👩👧👦 Open Family – Creative activities introducing younger visitors to architecture and design.
🎶 Open Music – On Friday 13 November, Can Balaguer hosts an evening of music with L’Arannà and Prof Mullet.

Whether you’re an architecture enthusiast or simply curious about the city you live in, Open House Palma offers an opportunity to discover a side of Palma that usually remains behind closed doors.
