Every August, the streets of Sineu are taken over by one of Mallorca’s most unique and talked-about celebrations: La Mucada.
Returning for its 23rd edition on Monday, 10 August 2026, this much-loved festival has grown from a local tradition into one of the island’s biggest summer gatherings, attracting thousands of people every year.
At the heart of the celebration are the iconic characters es Much and sa Muca, whose playful mythology, rituals and unmistakable sense of humour have created a festival unlike any other in Mallorca. Blending music, creativity, community and tradition with a touch of the surreal, La Mucada has developed its own language, symbols and devoted following.
While the full programme is still to be announced, visitors can expect a lively day and night filled with celebrations, music and the unmistakable atmosphere that has made La Mucada one of the highlights of Mallorca’s summer calendar.
This year’s official poster, created by Massay, is presented under the slogan “Eclipsi. Saturació. Ja no hi cap ningú més… o potser sí?” (“Eclipse. Saturation. There’s no room for anyone else… or maybe there is?”), playfully reflecting the festival’s ever-growing popularity while staying true to its unique identity.
