🌸 Festes de la Beata de Palma 2026 · Traditional Procession of Santa Catalina Tomàs
One of Mallorca’s most deeply rooted religious traditions returns to the streets of Palma this October. 🌸
On 16–17 October 2026, Palma celebrates the Festes de la Beata, honouring Santa Catalina Tomàs, Mallorca’s only canonised saint, affectionately known as La Beateta.
Born in Valldemossa in 1531, Santa Catalina Tomàs became a nun at the Convent of Santa Magdalena in Palma and remains an important figure in Mallorca’s religious and cultural heritage.
The highlight of the celebrations is the Carro Triomfal, a traditional procession featuring an elaborately decorated triumphal carriage, accompanied by children dressed as angels and pagesets (traditional Mallorcan peasants).
The procession winds through Palma’s historic streets before returning to Santa Magdalena, bringing together centuries of tradition, local history and community.
