Cinema Lliure a la Platja 2026 | Mallorca’s Free Beach Cinema Festival
There’s something magical about watching an independent film with your feet in the sand and the sound of the waves in the background. This summer, Cinema Lliure a la Platja returns to Mallorca for its 15th edition, bringing award-winning independent cinema back to some of the island’s most beautiful beaches.
Running from 25 June to 2 July 2026 in Mallorca (and until 10 August across the festival), every screening is completely free and begins at sunset, creating one of the island’s most unique summer evenings.
More than just an outdoor cinema, Cinema Lliure showcases acclaimed independent films from around the world alongside emerging filmmaking talent. Every session opens with a carefully selected short film before the feature presentation, giving audiences the opportunity to discover new directors and fresh perspectives.

Each evening begins with a curated short film from FILMETS, Talent+ or Nou Talent, showcasing emerging filmmakers from Catalonia and Mallorca.
🌅 Sunset screenings
Films begin after sunset (approximately between 9:30 pm and 10:00 pm), creating a relaxed beach atmosphere.
🌿 Committed to sustainability
Cinema Lliure encourages visitors to arrive by public transport or bicycle, reduces printed materials and organises beach clean-up initiatives as part of the festival.
