Rialto Living presents Mar y Tierra, a new exhibition by Maria Adlersson — a warm and expressive exploration of Mallorca’s landscapes and everyday poetry.
In this new series, the artist moves beyond the structured geometry of her previous work, embracing a more fluid and intuitive visual language. Her compositions feel lighter, more open — with forms that drift gently across the canvas, capturing a sense of calm and quiet movement.
Drawing inspiration from the island itself — its plants, animals, food, and familiar objects — Adlersson creates a visual dialogue between land and sea. Earthy tones such as terracotta, rust, and olive ground the works, while soft blues evoke the surrounding sky and Mediterranean waters.
Executed in a mixed technique of acrylic, vinyl, chalk, and varnish, the pieces reveal a tactile quality, with areas of raw linen left intentionally exposed. The result is a collection that feels both grounded and airy — a reflection of Mallorca’s natural rhythms and understated beauty.
