Five sharp questions with Mallorca’s movers and makers… This time, we’re sitting down with Georgina Hamed, celebrity make-up artist and founder of Lost in Beauty Studio in Deià.
But Lost in Beauty actually began long before Deià.
In 2006, Georgina opened the original Lost in Beauty in London’s Primrose Hill: a Victorian apothecary-inspired beauty emporium named after Sister Sledge’s disco anthem Lost in Music. Part concept store, part beauty studio and anything but your run-of-the-mill salon, it brought together cult and niche beauty brands with a handpicked roster of experts from the worlds of fashion and celebrity.
There were gilded sconces, antique cabinets, a black ceiling, pamper parties, art exhibitions and a pair of custom-made neon pink lips in the window. This was, as Georgina puts it, “an Instagrammable space before Instagram existed.” It went on to be named Britain’s Best Beauty Shop by The Telegraph Magazine and featured in the Louis Vuitton City Guide, Tatler, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.
After six years, the London chapter came to an unexpected end. Georgina later spent six years living in the Hollywood Hills, working on make-up assignments in LA, before life eventually brought her to Mallorca.
Now, almost two decades after Lost in Beauty first opened its doors, the pink lips are back. 💋
This time, they’re in Deià.

Tucked inside Obsolete Collective, Georgina’s Lost in Beauty Studio Pop Up is a more intimate, distinctly Balearic evolution of the original concept: a rotating roster of beauty and wellness practitioners, carefully selected products, make-up sessions and treatments, all from a Mallorcan stone house overlooking the Tramuntana.
And after the glamour of Hollywood and the ever-changing trends of London, island life has inspired Georgina to strip beauty back. Less constructed, more effortless. Make-up as a second skin, never a mask.
We caught up with Georgina to talk Balearic beauty, morning swims, multitasking through pedicures, dancing under the trees and a very special September reunion, 18 years in the making.
1. What’s keeping you busy (and inspired) in Mallorca right now?
The Lost in Beauty Studio Pop Up in Deià is keeping me very busy. It’s my first season, building a community, a rotating roster of the island’s finest beauty practitioners, beauty product testing, client bookings, and make-up sessions.
In between, I’m planning wellness events and trying to convince people that a facial experience in a Mallorcan stone house facing the mountains is exactly what they need! It usually is.

2. If Mallorca were a beauty ritual, what would it be? And why?
After the glamour of Hollywood and the seasonal trends of London, living on this island has taught me to strip everything back.
The sun, the sea, and the nature here lend themselves to a kind of natural beauty that feels effortless rather than constructed. And that’s exactly the philosophy behind my Balearic BeautyFix sessions: a private, in-person tutorial that teaches you how to blend, conceal, and enhance – make-up worn as a second skin, never a mask.
Simple steps, insider tips, and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing and loving your own face.
3. Is there a place, ritual, or local habit that always makes you feel connected to Mallorca?
A morning hike through the ancient trees with a Tramuntana backdrop, followed by a swim at Llucalcari.
And an evening dancing under the trees at Sa Fonda.
4. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere… what’s your favourite way to unwind and relax?
I’m usually still working at 5pm, so my version of unwinding is answering emails while Alejandra, my talented nail technician and trained chiropodist, gives me her signature pedicure for beach-ready feet.
It’s multitasking as self-care!

5. What’s one upcoming event or moment you’re most looking forward to?
Lost in Beauty Studio Pop Up is closing its doors for the season this September, my birthday month, and I wanted to mark it properly.
So on September 8th, I’m hosting a special one-day event with Nichola Joss, the first facialist I worked with when I opened my original Lost in Beauty boutique in London eighteen years ago.
The morning is a Meet-the-Founder talk, followed by an afternoon of facial appointments. Nichola is one of the most talented skin experts in the world and creator of the celebrated Bespoke Buccal Inner Facial™ – a treatment that has to be felt to be believed, combining lymphatic drainage, deep tissue pressure point massage and sculpting techniques, including her signature massage from inside the mouth, to lift, revive and relax the facial muscles.
She’s also co-founder of Hopothecary, a wellness and skincare brand built around the science of hops. I’m completely obsessed with the Night Hopsdrops.
It feels like a full-circle moment, and the perfect note to close the season on.

✨ At 5 o’clock, Georgina may technically still be answering emails – but preferably while getting a pedicure. After years spent in the beauty worlds of London and Hollywood, Mallorca seems to have inspired something altogether more stripped-back: good skin, less make-up, a swim in Llucalcari and the occasional night dancing under the trees.
And frankly, a facial in a Mallorcan stone house overlooking the Tramuntana doesn’t sound too bad either.
