Stay, dine & discover 810 acres of Mallorca’s wild northwest.
Please note: Following temporary storm-related damage, Son Bunyola is currently closed and will reopen on 4 October 2026.
Set within an extraordinary 810-acre estate on Mallorca’s northwest coast, Son Bunyola Hotel & Villas brings together centuries of Mallorcan history, dramatic Tramuntana landscapes and contemporary hospitality.
Part of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition collection, the estate is home to three private villas alongside the intimate 27-room Son Bunyola Hotel. The hotel occupies a beautifully restored finca dating back to the 1500s, incorporating the historic Tafona olive press and traditional buildings, all surrounded by vineyards, mountains and Mediterranean views. A heated infinity pool, spa treatment rooms and access to a pebble beach complete the setting. The hotel holds One MICHELIN Key and was named among Tripadvisor’s Top 1% of Hotels Worldwide in 2026.
But there’s much more to Son Bunyola than checking in. Sa Terrassa, the hotel’s restaurant, is also open to outside guests – something we think more Mallorca residents should know about. Its farm-to-fork philosophy celebrates Mallorcan flavours, with much of the produce coming directly from the estate’s gardens and orchards and wines handpicked by the sommelier.
For those staying at Son Bunyola, the estate itself becomes part of the experience. Think hiking and cycling through the Tramuntana, yoga, tennis and pickleball, vineyard picnics and Malvasia tastings, paella and mixology experiences, traditional Mallorcan workshops, art and crafts, sailing and spa treatments. There are activities for younger guests too, making the estate equally suited to family stays.
Whether you retreat to one of the private villas, check into the historic hotel, make the journey for dinner at Sa Terrassa or spend your stay exploring the estate, Son Bunyola offers a rather special way to experience Mallorca’s northwest.
Son Bunyola is one of those places that reminds us just how spectacular Mallorca’s west coast really is. And you don’t necessarily need to check in to experience it – Sa Terrassa welcomes outside guests, making dinner a very good excuse to discover the estate. If you are staying, between the private villas, vineyard experiences, hikes, spa, workshops and those views, there’s really very little reason to leave.

We love places that give us a reason to rediscover a part of the island we thought we knew - and Son Bunyola does exactly that.
