The Tren de Nadal de Palma is back and ready to become, once again, one of the most beloved family plans of the festive season.
As part of the commercial campaign “Palma, tot un centre de diversió” – organised by AFEDECO, PIMECO and the Ajuntament de Palma – this charming Christmas train winds through the city to bring people into the centre, support local shops and let everyone enjoy Palma’s Christmas lights in a magical way.
🚂 Tren de Nadal de Palma 2025–2026
Christmas lights, local shopping & family fun on rails
From 7 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, the train runs on selected days in the late afternoon (approx. 17:00–21:00), with departures every 20–25 minutes and the last ride around 20:40.
🗓 Operating dates 2025–2026
- December: 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 23, 27, 28
- January: 2, 3, 4
There will also be special solidarity rides on 12, 19, 20 and 27 December, designed especially for older people, bringing them closer to the festive atmosphere in the city centre.
🚃 Two routes, one festive city
1️⃣ Centro Route – Historic Palma in full sparkle
- Departure/arrival: Plaça de la Reina
- Area: Old Town & Born area
This route takes you through Passeig del Born, Jaume III, La Rambla and the main central streets, where Christmas lights, decorated shop windows, nativity scenes and markets turn Palma into a true open-air Christmas scene. Perfect to combine the ride with a stroll, shopping and belén-spotting.
2️⃣ Eixample Route – Neighbourhood lights & local shops
- Departure/arrival: Plaça Abu Yahya
- Area: Eixample (31 de Desembre, General Riera, Arxiduc Lluís Salvador, etc.)
This route showcases the city’s neighbourhood commerce, passing through key commercial axes outside the old town and highlighting the role of local shops in the Christmas campaign.
🎫 How to get tickets
The Tren de Nadal is a commercial activation focused on supporting local businesses, so tickets are not sold at the train:
- Tickets are handed out in participating local shops that display the campaign poster “Palma, tot un centre de diversió” in their window.
- Each business decides how to distribute them (for example, as a gift when you shop there or for loyal customers).
- In many cases, these same tickets also give access to other children’s attractions and rides dotted around the city (Plaça d’Espanya, Plaça Major, Olivar, Via Roma, Parc de ses Estacions, sa Feixina, etc.), turning Palma into one big open-air winter funfair.
Hop on, enjoy the lights, and support Palma’s small businesses — all in one Christmas ride. 🎄✨
