Mallorca’s weekly markets are one of the best ways to explore the island while supporting local producers, farmers, and small businesses.

Usually held from around 8:00/9:00 AM until 1:00/2:00 PM, each town has its own designated market day, offering fresh produce, local delicacies, artisan crafts, and unique finds.

.) Covered Markets in Mallorca (Open Most Days)

Covered markets offer a great alternative to open-air markets. Generally open Monday to Saturday (closed Sundays), they’re ideal for relaxed shopping, whatever the weather.

You’ll find long-standing stalls run by knowledgeable vendors selling fresh fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, cheeses, and local specialties. In Palma, covered markets also feature bars and cafés, making them a social hub as much as a shopping destination.

The Calendar's Note

The local market of *s’Arenal takes place every Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the town center. From April to October, it attracts many tourists with its wide range of summer clothes, footwear, beach articles, and gifts. The market spans Carrer Maria Antonia Salvà, Plaça Major, and nearby streets. Additionally, a smaller food, fruit, and vegetable market is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Plaça Major.

*Inca hosts the biggest market in Mallorca, well-known for its handcrafted leather goods, including shoes, bags and jackets.

Calvià now offers traditional markets seven days a week. The new weekly market in *Magaluf is operating since September 2024.
