🔥 Sant Antoni 2026 · Sa Pobla & Across Mallorca

16–17 January 2026

On two winter nights every January, Mallorca trades the cold for fire, music and devotionSant Antoni Abat, patron saint of animals, is honoured across the island with bonfires (foguerons), dancing dimonis, improvised songs, music and the traditional beneïdes (animal blessings).

Celebrations take place across Mallorca, with especially strong traditions in Sa PoblaManacorArtà, Capdepera and Son Servera.

Among them all, Sa Pobla is widely considered the epicentre of Sant Antoni celebrations.

🌾 Why Sa Pobla?

Sa Pobla’s connection to Sant Antoni dates back to at least 1365, deeply rooted in the town’s agricultural identity. That heritage has grown into Mallorca’s most spectacular Sant Antoni programme, featuring large-scale fire shows, devil dances, gloses, and a much-loved pyromusical that fills the main square with sound and flame.

🗓 What to Expect in 2026

With Friday 16 January falling on the Revetla (eve) and Saturday 17 January on Sant Antoni’s Day, 2026 sets the stage for a full weekend of celebrations across the island.

🔥 Friday, 16 January · Revetla de Sant Antoni

  • Foguerons light up towns and villages across Mallorca
  • Neighbours grill sobrassada and botifarrons, sing gloses and play ximbomba
  • Dimonis take over the streets with fire, rhythm and ritual chaos
  • Sa Pobla hosts the island’s largest and most elaborate spectacle

Celebrations also take place in PollençaMuroPalma and many other towns.

🐴 Saturday, 17 January · Sant Antoni

  • Beneïdes (animal blessings) after morning Mass
  • Pets, horses and farm animals are all welcome
  • Major blessings in Muro and Palma (Cathedral area), with local ceremonies throughout the island

  • Artà – Ball dels Dimonis: drums, devils and moving street theatre
  • Manacor – Dimonis dancing alongside xeremiers (Mallorcan bagpipes)
  • Capdepera & Cala Rajada – striking devil pageantry across consecutive weekends

  • Dress for fire at correfocs: cover arms, tie hair, wear closed shoes

✨ The Spirit of Sant Antoni

At its heart, Sant Antoni is a winter rite of gratitude — blessing the animals that sustained rural life and warming the community with shared fire and song. While every Mallorcan town celebrates in its own way, Sa Pobla’s devotion and theatrical scale make it the beating heart of the festival.

📌 Dates: 16–17 January 2026
ℹ️ Detailed local programmes are usually published closer to the feast.

A celebration of fire, faith, and community – Sant Antoni is Mallorca at its most elemental 🔥
