Sa Fira & Es Firó 2026 returns to Sóller this month with one of Mallorca’s most iconic and emotional celebrations – a week where history, tradition and community spirit completely take over the Vall de Sóller.

From concerts, exhibitions and folk dancing to the legendary mock battle between the Moors and the people of Sóller, these are some of the island’s most spectacular and beloved festivities.

The celebrations commemorate the historic events of May 1561, when the people of Sóller defended the town against an invasion of Ottoman and North African corsairs.

More than just a reenactment, Es Firó has become a living tradition passed down through generations – with hundreds of locals participating as pagesos, pageses, bandolers and moros in an unforgettable theatrical battle across the town and Port de Sóller.

Throughout the week, Sóller fills with music, traditional clothing, exhibitions, flower displays, folk dancing, concerts and family activities, all building up to the main events on Sunday and Monday.

⚠️ Important Things to Know Before Visiting

• Expect very large crowds, especially on Sunday and Monday. Arrive early.
• Many roads into Sóller and Port de Sóller will be restricted or closed throughout Es Firó. Parking is extremely limited.
• Public transport is strongly recommended – especially the historic train from Palma or shuttle/public bus options.
• Mobile signal and internet may become unreliable due to the volume of people.
• Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for long periods standing or walking.
• During Es Firó there are loud noises, smoke effects, mock weapons and pyrotechnics throughout the reenactments.
• Families with small children should be especially cautious during the battle scenes and crowded areas.
• Respect the safety barriers, participants and procession routes at all times.
• Avoid blocking streets during the floral procession and battle reenactments. The organisation specifically asks visitors not to stop in the middle of the procession routes for photos.

This year, several support and awareness points will again be available along the route through the TRIA’B initiative, “No i Punt” and SAMFS/Police Tutor teams. Fixed safe points will also be available in Plaça de Sa Torre and Plaça del Mercat throughout the evening.
