The start of the year in Mallorca is marked by some of the island’s most deeply rooted and vibrant traditions. From fire festivals and folklore to almond blossoms and carnival parades, January and February offer a wonderful glimpse into local culture across towns and villages.
🗓️ January Highlights
👑 5 January · Three Kings Parade (Cabalgata de Reis)
The most magical night for children and families. The Three Kings arrive by boat and parade through Palma from Moll Vell through the historic centre at 18:00, with celebrations taking place in all municipalities across Mallorca.
👑 6 January · Adoration of the Three Kings
A live theatrical performance of Adoració dels Reis by Llorenç Moyà.

💃 16 January · Sant Honorat
Traditional Ball dels Cossiers in Algaida, a striking ritual dance linked to ancient agrarian traditions.
🔥 17 January · Sant Antoni
One of Mallorca’s most iconic celebrations:
- Bonfires (foguerons)
- Dimonis (devils), music and dancing
- Beneïdes (animal blessings)
Celebrated across the island, especially in Sa Pobla, Manacor, Artà, Capdepera and Son Servera.
Special traditions include El Pi de Sant Antoni in Pollença and La Baixada del Corb in Mancor de la Vall.
🎶 20 January · Sant Sebastià
Patron saint of Palma, celebrated with open-air concerts, giants, cycling events and a festive atmosphere throughout the city.
Also featuring the Ball dels Cavallets in Pollença.
