🎶 Festival Cap Rocat 2026 · World-Class Opera Under the Mallorcan Sky

One of Mallorca’s most prestigious classical music events returns this summer as the Festival Cap Rocat celebrates its 2026 edition from July 31 to August 2.

Set within the spectacular surroundings of Cap Rocat, the festival once again brings together some of the world’s most celebrated voices and musicians for three unforgettable evenings of opera and classical music.

Under the artistic direction of renowned opera figure Ilias Tzempetonidis, the festival continues its mission of placing Mallorca on the international classical music map while offering audiences an extraordinary concert experience in the open-air auditorium of the historic seaside fortress.

⭐ Program Highlights

🎤 July 31 · Grand Opera Gala
The festival opens with a lyrical gala featuring Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez, one of the most celebrated voices in opera today.

Conducted by Pablo Mielgo, the evening will feature beloved opera arias and Spanish zarzuela repertoire performed alongside the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears and the Festival Cap Rocat Choir, directed by Joan Company.

🎹 August 1 · Piano Recital
Acclaimed Austrian pianist Rudolf Buchbinder will present an intimate recital in the concert hall of Cap Rocat, performing works by Wolfgang Amadeus MozartLudwig van Beethoven, and Franz Schubert.

🎭 August 2 · Tosca in Concert
The festival concludes with Tosca, presented in concert version.

The production will feature an exceptional cast including soprano Lise Davidsen, tenor Freddie De Tommaso, and baritone Ludovic Tézier, conducted by Italian maestro Giacomo Sagripanti. The performance will again feature the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears and the Festival Cap Rocat Choir.

🎓 Supporting Emerging Talent

Beyond the performances, the festival continues its commitment to musical education and young talent through Festival Cap Rocat Inspira, a special training day taking place on August 1.

The program includes a masterclass led by Ludovic Tézier, as well as discussions and activities designed to support and inspire emerging Spanish opera singers.

The event will be open to the public with prior registration.

🌊 A Unique Cultural Experience

Organised by the Fundación Madina Mayurqa with the support of Cap Rocat, the festival has quickly become one of the most anticipated cultural events of the Mallorcan summer.

Concerts take place within the dramatic setting of the restored fortress overlooking the Mediterranean, offering a truly magical atmosphere beneath the island’s summer sky.

Tickets are available from March 5 at 11:00 via the festival website. Mallorca residents can benefit from a 10% discount until April 4, 2026.
