🎶 Festival Cap Rocat 2026 · World-Class Opera Under the Mallorcan Sky
One of Mallorca’s most prestigious classical music events returns this summer as Festival Cap Rocat celebrates its 2026 edition from 31 July to 2 August.
Set within the spectacular surroundings of Cap Rocat, the festival once again brings together some of the world’s most celebrated musicians and opera stars for three unforgettable evenings of classical music overlooking the Mediterranean.
Under the artistic direction of internationally renowned opera specialist Ilias Tzempetonidis, the festival continues its mission of bringing world-class performances to Mallorca while nurturing the next generation of talent through its educational initiatives.
⭐ Programme Highlights
🎤 31 July · Juan Diego Flórez Recital
The festival opens with acclaimed Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez, one of the most celebrated voices in opera today.
Joined by renowned pianist Vincenzo Scalera, Flórez will perform a carefully curated recital featuring works by Bellini, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Massenet, Gounod, Lecuona and Spanish and Latin American composers. The recital format has recently captivated audiences across Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza and Seville.
🎹 1 August · Jan Lisiecki Piano Recital
This year’s piano recital will be performed by internationally acclaimed Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki, one of the most exciting talents of his generation.
In the intimate Concert Hall of Cap Rocat, Lisiecki will perform a programme featuring works by Falla, Chopin, Brahms, Piazzolla, Albéniz and Schubert, offering audiences the chance to experience one of today’s leading pianists in an extraordinary setting.
Earlier that day, the festival will also host Festival Cap Rocat Inspira: Impulso al Talento, a public educational programme including an exclusive masterclass by celebrated baritone Ludovic Tézier, alongside discussions dedicated to supporting the next generation of Spanish lyrical singers.
🎭 2 August · Tosca in Concert
The festival concludes with Puccini’s Tosca in concert version.
Conducted by Pablo Mielgo, Music Director of the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears, the performance features an exceptional international cast including:

✨ Ludovic Tézier as Scarpia
✨ Sebastià Serra as Angelotti
Joining them are the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears and the Festival Cap Rocat Choir, directed by Joan Company.
🎓 Inspiring Future Talent
Education remains at the heart of Festival Cap Rocat through its annual Festival Cap Rocat Inspira: Impulso al Talento initiative.
Taking place on the morning of 1 August, the programme offers a unique opportunity for emerging Spanish lyrical singers to learn from internationally renowned artists. This year’s edition includes an exclusive masterclass by Ludovic Tézier, alongside panel discussions exploring the world of opera and professional singing. The event is free to attend with prior registration.
A special success story highlights the festival’s impact: Sebastià Serra, who took part in the festival’s educational programme in 2024, returns this year as part of the main cast of Tosca, sharing the stage with some of the world’s leading opera performers.
🌊 A Unique Cultural Experience
Organised by the Fundación Madina Mayurqa with the support of Cap Rocat, the festival has become one of the most anticipated cultural events of the Mallorcan summer.
Concerts take place within the dramatic setting of the restored fortress overlooking the Mediterranean, creating a magical atmosphere where world-class music meets one of Mallorca’s most extraordinary locations.
