🩸 Donate Blood in Mallorca – January 2026 Campaigns
This January, the Banc de Sang i Teixits de les Illes Balears (BSTIB) continues its island-wide mission to make blood donation accessible to everyone – with mobile buses, local health centres, and a permanent donation point in Palma.
Your donation can save up to 3 lives, and the need is constant for surgeries, emergencies, and chronic patients.
📢 Important Update: New Eligibility for UK Residents (1980–1996)
People who lived in the UK between 1980 and 1996 — previously excluded due to the vCJD (“mad cow disease”) risk — can now donate blood again.
This change follows new guidelines from the Spanish Ministry of Health and aligns with international scientific evidence.
This means many long-time British residents and Mallorcans who studied or worked in the UK can now return to donating. ❤️

🌟 How to Donate
- Bring an official ID (DNI, NIE, or passport).
- Eat beforehand and stay well hydrated.
- You must be between 18 and 65 years old and weigh at least 50kg.
