Island-wide cycling event with traffic restrictions across Mallorca
From 24 January to 1 February 2026, Mallorca once again hosts the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca, one of Europe’s most important early-season professional cycling events.
Across several days, elite international teams will race through towns, mountain roads, coastal routes, and urban areasall over the island – including Palma. As a result, temporary road closures and traffic restrictions will be in place on each race day, affecting different municipalities and main connecting roads.

🚧 Please note:
- Every race day of the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca involves temporary road closures and traffic restrictions
- Restrictions may affect main roads, access roads, town centres, and intersections
- Closures are usually rolling (moving with the race), but delays are expected
👉 Residents and visitors are advised to:
- Avoid unnecessary car travel on race days
- Plan journeys well in advance
- Allow extra travel time
- Follow police instructions and official signage
- Use alternative routes where possible
Traffic impact will vary by location and stage, but disruption should be expected island-wide throughout the event.

The final stage of the Challenge has the greatest impact on Palma, as it finishes in the city after starting in Marratxí.

- Official ribbon cutting: 10:20
- Neutralised start: 10:25
The neutralised section departs Mallorca Fashion Outlet, connecting to Ma-13A and continuing towards Coll des Poubefore the race fully opens.
🚧 Palma residents should expect:
- Traffic restrictions on access roads into the city
- Possible closures or delays around the Paseo Marítimo and surrounding areas
- Changes to public transport routes
- Limited parking near the finish zone
