The Fira de s’Oliva returns to Caimari this November for its 28th edition, celebrating the olive harvest and the deep-rooted traditions of Mallorca’s mountain villages.
First held in 1998, this iconic autumn fair has grown into one of the island’s most beloved rural events – a tribute to the olive, the land, and the people who keep its heritage alive.

The fair opens on Saturday morning with markets and tastings, continuing into the night with live music and cultural performances. On Sunday, demonstrations and local food stalls take centre stage once again, closing with a festive atmosphere that fills every corner of the village.
🌿 Caimari: Heart of the Olive Country
Nestled at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, the small village of Caimari has been shaped for centuries by its olive groves and oil production. The village lies along the ancient pilgrimage route to Lluc, and its surrounding terraces still show the stonework and craftsmanship of generations dedicated to the olive trade.
During the fair weekend, Caimari’s streets and main square transform into a vibrant open-air market filled with the aromas of fresh oil, roasted almonds, and local sweets — a scene that perfectly captures Mallorca’s rural charm.
🫒 What to Expect at the Fair
Over two days, the Fira de s’Oliva offers a rich mix of gastronomy, craftsmanship, and folklore, all inspired by the olive and the Tramuntana way of life:
- Olive oil tastings & local food – Sample fresh-pressed oils, table olives, tapenades, cheeses, bread, and seasonal delicacies.
- Craftsmanship & design – Discover handmade creations in olive wood: bowls, utensils, and furniture crafted by local artisans.
- Live demonstrations – Watch traditional olive pressing in action and visit Caimari’s historic oil mill.
- Music & folklore – Enjoy folk dances, parades of capgrossos (big-headed figures), xeremiers (bagpipers), and performances throughout the village.
- Family-friendly atmosphere – Workshops, exhibitions, and tastings for all ages make it a perfect weekend outing.
The Fira de s’Oliva is more than just a fair – it’s a celebration of Mallorca’s agricultural soul, where tradition, community, and the timeless olive tree come together in one unforgettable weekend.
