Visit “Huma Rise”, the latest exhibition by Roser Vallmajor i Lluch, at Rialto Living in the centre of Palma.
Under the artistic name Huma Rise, Roser Vallmajor i Lluch is a creative being and global citizen. After spending much of her life traveling and exchanging with cultures around the world, she found herself quarantined in Sri Lanka, where her large-scale painting practice was born. With a background in visual arts, graphic design, illustration, and art therapy, Roser has always moved between disciplines.
Her path took a turn after an accident left her in a wheelchair. She returned to working with her hands—art became her way back to herself. The sea played a vital role in her healing journey, both physically and metaphorically.
In Huma Rise, she explores the dynamic relationship between the intimate and the collective, working from spontaneity, automatic writing, and the unconscious, transforming symbols, codes, and traces into emotional maps. Each piece is a space of transit and transference—a reflection that dances with the void, the human, and its idea.
