Palma’s iconic Cathedral, La Seu, welcomes December with a full programme of Advent reflections, sacred music, children’s activities, and its most anticipated celebration of the year: Matines de Nadal, featuring the hauntingly beautiful Cant de la Sibil·la.

🕰 Visiting Hours – Seasonal Schedule

From 1 December to 31 March, visiting hours change:
Mon–Fri: 10:00–15:15
Sat: 10:00–14:15

Closed for tourism on: 6, 8, 25, 26 & 31 December due to Christmas celebrations.

Advent Retreat

A spiritual preparation session led by Mn. Francesc Ramis, reflecting on the Advent readings. (In Spanish)

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

Mass presided over by the Bishop of Mallorca, Mons. Sebastià Taltavull.
Additional Masses: 12:00 & 19:00

Vocation Prayer Service

Monthly prayer gathering under the theme “Per a qui som?”, led by the Bishop.


13 December – 17:00

Conference for Couples: “Hablamos con el corazón”

With speaker Javier Vidal-Quadras Trías de Bes.
A reflective talk for couples during Advent.

Vermells de la Seu & Schola Gregoriana – Mass & Concert

A special Advent musical celebration by two of Mallorca’s most emblematic sacred music ensembles.

Children’s Storytime: “La llum de l’Advent”

A storytelling journey through the four Sundays of Advent, followed by a Christmas postcard workshop.

MATINES DE NADAL & CANT DE LA SIBIL·LA

The most beloved Christmas tradition at La Seu.
A solemn, deeply atmospheric midnight Mass featuring the UNESCO-listed Cant de la Sibil·la.
Broadcast live on IB3.

German-language celebrations at 15:30 & 17:00.

Closing of the Jubilee Year 2025

A special Mass presided over by the Bishop, marking the end of the Jubilee «Peregrins d’Esperança».

Storytime at the Museu d’Art Sacre

Two Christmas tales — “L’Estel de Nadal al país dels contes” and “El secret dels Reis Mags” — followed by a craft workshop.

Celebration of l’Estendard

One of Palma’s most historic and symbolic civic-religious ceremonies, with Eucharist presided by the Bishop.
