🎭 Carnaval on Mallorca 2026
From early February to mid-February · Celebrations across the island
Carnival (Carnestoltes) is one of Mallorca’s biggest and most joyful traditions – a mix of costumes, satire, music, parades (ruas), and community gatherings before Lent.
Instead of one single event, Carnival happens town by town, with each ajuntament organising its own programme: some are one-day celebrations, others run across several days with children’s ruetes, parades, prize-giving, DJs, and the famous Enterrament de la Sardina (Burial of the Sardine), marking Carnival’s farewell.
Expect lots of creativity: carrosses (floats), comparsas (group costumes), live music, dancing, and family-friendly daytime events – often centred around the main square.
📅 When does Carnival take place?
Carnival celebrations across Mallorca run from 7 to 17 February 2026, with most of the main parades and ruas happening on the weekends, especially on Saturday 7 February (kids parades & festivities) and Saturday–Sunday 14 & 15 February (main parades).
Some towns focus on a single parade day, while others spread events across several days, often finishing with the Enterrament de la Sardina on or around 17 February, marking the official end of Carnival.
✅ Before You Go
Carnival programmes are organised by each local ajuntament and may change due to weather or last-minute municipal decisions.
We always recommend:
- Checking your local ajuntament website or social channels for the most up-to-date information
- Allowing extra time for travel and being aware of possible road closures or traffic diversions
- Double-checking times, routes and meeting points on the day, especially for parades
ℹ️ While we do our best to keep information accurate and updated, schedules and details are subject to change beyond our control.
