🎭 Teatre de Barra 2026
29 January – 5 March 2026
📍 Bars & venues in Blanquerna
🏁 Grand Final: Saturday 7 March, 8:00 pm
📍 Teatre Municipal Maruja Alfaro (formerly Mar i Terra)
The 28th edition of Teatre de Barra returns to Palma, reaffirming its unique format: short theatre pieces performed inside bars, experienced up close and explored bar by bar. Considered one of the city’s most original cultural initiatives, the festival blends comedy, satire, and contemporary tragicomedy, often with an ironic and critical look at Mallorca’s social and tourism-related reality.
This year’s theme, “Souvenirs of theatre, bar tourism”, sets the tone for a programme that reflects on life on the island – its contradictions, tensions, and humour – through intimate performances in non-conventional spaces.
🍺 How Teatre de Barra Works
On each performance night, five different bars and venues in the Blanquerna area are transformed into small theatrical stages.
Each venue hosts one short play, performed four times per evening, allowing the audience to create their own route between bars.

- 7:30 pm
- 8:10 pm
- 8:50 pm
- 9:30 pm
You can choose to see one play or several in the same evening.

✨ Why it’s special
With almost three decades of history, Teatre de Barra is a winter staple of Palma’s cultural scene – theatre without distance, stories told face to face, and bars that become stages. It’s social, sharp, and unmistakably Mallorcan.
A must for locals, culture lovers, and anyone looking to experience theatre in a completely different way.
