Sencelles celebrates Santa Àgueda, patron saint of the village, with over a week of festivities combining tradition, culture, music, fire, and community celebrations.
The programme runs from 31 January to 9 February, offering activities for all ages.
✨ Highlights of the Festivities
- Wednesday 4 February – Santa Àgueda Eve
A festive evening in the village centre featuring giants’ dances, rom cremat, a traditional procession, tasting of “Mamelletes de Santa Àgueda” with sweet wine, correfoc (fire run), communal barbecue, folk dancing, and improvised glosa singing. - Thursday 5 February – Santa Àgueda Day
The official feast day includes morning processions, a solemn Mass, traditional dance offerings, and the heartfelt tribute to the oldest and youngest women of Sencelles, followed by a community gathering. - Saturday 7 February
The XXIV Premis d’Es Capoll Llarg – “Sa Reviscolada”, with parades, xeremiers (traditional bagpipers), giants, music, and a popular vermouth.
⚠️ Programme update: The bingo organised by Quintos de Sencelles will take place on Saturday 7 February (not on Sunday 1 February as previously announced). - Sunday 8 February
One of the most anticipated moments: the carriages and carnival groups parade, filling the streets with colour, creativity, and music, followed by children’s entertainment and prize-giving. - Monday 9 February
Family-friendly closing events including the presentation of a children’s book inspired by the legend of Santa Àgueda, storytelling, workshops, and the announcement of parade prizes.
