A new blog series by The Calendar Mallorca
🕔 “5 en punto” means five o’clock sharp in Spanish — just like our five quick-fire questions. In this new series, we’re catching up with Mallorca’s movers, makers, and magic-bringers — one quick question at a time.
For our third interview, we had the absolute pleasure of getting to know Antto Cabanellas – proud Mallorquina, DJ, co-star of @huasarao, and one of our favourite people to follow on socials. We love her for her hilarious and honest stories, her radiant energy (inside and out), and her unapologetic humour.
Engaged to fellow DJ Biel Castell Cladera, Antto never hesitates to poke fun at herself – or anyone not quick enough to escape. She doesn’t seem to take life too seriously, yet she’s deeply grateful for the opportunities that have come her way thanks to hard work, passion, and a bold dream of playing Mallorca Live Festival – and beyond.
In a world where most DJ booths are still dominated by men, Antto is part of a rising wave of women reshaping the scene with sound, confidence, and humour – and we’re 100% here for it.

1. What’s keeping you busy (and inspired) in Mallorca right now?
Work, no doubt! Summer is full of events and I always try to give my best at each one.
As for inspiration, there’s nothing that inspires me more than a sunset with music in the background while remixing old-school songs in our own style.
2. If Mallorca were a playlist, what would be your opening track — and why?
🎧 Illes dins un riu – Tomeu Penya
He’s a Mallorcan singer from Vilafranca de Bonany and his songs have been with me my whole life. My parents used to play his music when I was little. Just hearing the first notes of his songs stirs something special inside me.
3. Is there a place, ritual, or local habit that always makes you feel connected to Mallorca?
I’m lucky to be from Mallorca – and from a village, and I say that with pride. I was born in Sa Pobla, where Sant Antoni is celebrated in an extraordinary way.
My mother is from Santa Margalida, known for La Beata, a traditional procession dating back to 1972.
Now I live in Llubí, a village of 2,500 people where kids play in the street and we all know each other – a rare luxury in 2025.
So for me, it’s experiencing the culture of Mallorca’s villages – the beaches, mountains, customs, and food – that connects me to my island.

4. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere… what’s your favourite way to unwind?
That’s easy: being on my favourite beach with my people, setting up a picnic to enjoy dinner while watching the sunset.
Sometimes I say I don’t ask for much… but honestly, this is everything.
I live in paradise and I’m surrounded by amazing people.
5. What’s one event or moment you’re most looking forward to?
Honestly, all of them! We work with incredible people.
But if I had to choose, the tardeos at Sal de Cocó – Colònia de Sant Jordi are pure magic.
📅 Mark your calendars: August 8 and September 6.
And if we’re talking big dreams… I’d love to play at Mallorca Live Festival, with my partner in music and in life, Biel.
That would be the cherry on top of the cake we’ve been baking with love.
